Dad said the bridge burned once, and when it was rebuilt, a grant from the government allowed for the addition of a fire suppression system to thwart future danger.

The kids' idea of great fair food is always a hot dog. They'll grow up some day.
Caleb likes to find the most difficult way to eat his food. Tonight's version of that was eating a hot dog like an ear of corn. Very interesting.

Stephen must have said something hilarious.
Waiting to ride the rides. I would just like to take this opportunity to say that grandkids are treated completely differently than children. My dad would NEVER have bought ride tickets at a fair. Way too much money for a little fun. (Incidentally, I agree with him, but I probably didn't when I was three.) My how the times have changed. Katy and Caleb got to ride two rides. Humph. :)

Finally our turn!
Our kids had to be told several times to sit back. I ask you, what's the fun of a ferris wheel if you can't lean over??
They loved it.

Looks like a fun outing - - - tenderloins and funnel cakes ARE gourmet fare.
Not just any tenderloins, Rich Valley Tenderloins...can't get any better!
LOVED the hot dog. That's hilarious. Why be boring and do things the way billions of other people do them (including lack of condiments), right Caleb?! I'm with ya!
Oh girl, I'm right there with you. In what lifetime did our parents ever let us do such extravagant things like ride rides at the fair, get dessert at a restaurant, or get popcorn at the movies? We were so underprivileged, LOL.
Cute pictures!!
Yes, I know all about those first-borns named Katy or Katie! Deven, I can't stand how cute your kids are. I mean it t makes me ache they are so cute.
