Stuff and Things

Started writing this on October 21st. Sad, sad, sad...

Time for short updates off the top of my head.

#1 - Children had dr appts. Daddy took them. Both are growing. Caleb might need some early intervention speech therapy, but we'll see. Parents not overly concerned. Would probably help if big sister would stop talking for him. See example below:

Caleb: Uhh
Katy: Caleb wants a drink.
Caleb: Uuuhhh.
Katy: He said he like milk.

So there's not a whole lot of progress in the speech area with his "mouthpiece" working for him. :) What a great sister!

#2 - Katy and I had birthday parties. Super fun. She got a cheerleader costume, and I didn't. Go figure. One of her favorite presents is a digital camera made for kids, and the kiddos are having a blast preserving their perspective on the world.

Continued on November 2nd...
I don't remember what else I was going to write about, but something big has come up. We drove up to Mom and Dad's house for our regular Friday night dinner, but when we got there we found out that Mom's dad, Papaw Batt, died Friday afternoon. So now we're getting ready for Papaw's visitation and funeral on Tuesday and Wednesday in Muncie.

Some of the memories that are coming to the surface are his Old Spice cologne, breakfasts at Bob Evans, and him telling me to go lay down with my pups. :) Here's one of the most recent pictures I have of Papaw. (Teeth were less important to him toward the end of his life.) :)

I'm sorry to hear about your Papaw.

Kyle had THREE older siblings talking for him. He made NO ATTEMPT to say anything until he was old enough to talk in complete sentences.

As we all know - - - his talking turned out just fine.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Papaw. My prayers are with you and your family.

Don't worry too much about Caleb just yet. David has a bit of a speech delay, but is catching up quickly now. Give him some time :) Boys are sometimes slower... especially when they have talkative sisters :)

Sorry to hear about Papaw :( The kids pictures are amazing- I love the pirate hat LOL!

Their costumes are cute and I love the story about big sister talking for him. I seem to remember getting yelled at for doing the same thing with MY little brother! Ha ha ha
