I'm not dead yet...

What happened to us? Did the earth lose its gravitational pull on our house, sending us floating out into space? Nope. We're busy. Since festivity time, we have also done the traditional joint celebration of my birthday and my brother's. He picked Texas Roadhouse for our dinner, which I thought was great since Mom missed out on her birthday. While we were in the middle of eating, Nathan said, "I don't want any birthday things. I don't want to ride the saddle!" I thought this was probably better because the table next to us was also celebrating a birthday, and all the noise and shouting caused my little angel to experience a meltdown. Imagine my surprise when, toward the end of dinner, the birthday crew pulled up to our table with the dreaded saddle. :) Being the good sport he is, Nathan and I attempted to climb on the saddle together for our photo op. (We didn't both fit, by the way. You try squeezing on a saddle behind a pregnant woman. Nathan just stood behind.) I'll have to see if I can get the pictures from Mom and Dad.

My online classes are going.....OK. My last class was great; this one is weird. I have heard my students complain (Sorry, guys, you WERE complaining!) about a teacher having unclear expectations for them. In my class I have experienced the same thing and have renewed a vow to be totally and abundantly clear with all my assignments. Things that make you say, "AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!"

Most recently, our church celebrated its 85th anniversary this weekend. It made for a long Sunday, but it was neat to hear and see the history of our church. There were some who had been attending the church for their entire lives -- dedicated there, married there, and had buried spouses there. We had a fabulous carry-in dinner. I've never seen so much food in one place, all of it brought in by church people. I ate way too much, which made singing in the following service a bit difficult, but do-able. Yummy. Anyway, it was a great day.

Now I'm back into the grind at school, and a stack of grading is calling my name. Off I go, or maybe I'll just do one more sudoku puzzle....

Girl friend, you are going to have to change the name of your blog to "The Every Once In a Great While" Swan.

I had a dream last night that I saw you and Paula Fannin at Kroger and you were both pregnant. You, specifically, had a really round tummy (like a ball) and I told you that I thought you were having a boy. You guys were both going to work and were dressed in suits.

It was a weird dream!

I hope everything is going well!
