Organization

I really love organization, especially if it's not my stuff. However, I have recently come across a blog written by an organizational maven who is hosting a monthly contest to organize your own junk meaningful accumulations of items. I'm going to give it a whirl and thought I'd let you know about it too.

Organizing Blog

The first month deals with getting the pesky paper piles pulverized (or filed, whichever you prefer, but pulverized makes for better alliteration).

I've got in mind a certain desk in my house that sits next to my filing cabinet and close to the changing table, and it somehow serves as a catch-all for papers, toys that need batteries, changing table supplies, and everything else that needs a real home. Wish me luck. I'll post before pictures if I can find the camera. :)

Here's what I HATE about organizing things - - - well TWO things I hate about it:

1) The whole process of doing it - - - I could be doing much more meaningful things like watching football or taking a nap.

2) As soon as you get it organized, someone starts piling the same exact kind of stuff right back in that same place - - - so all that effort to organize was just wasted.

If only it would stay organized, right? BTW, you were right; I did not intend to imply that I was going hog wild when I turn 50. Shows you how things can be misconstrued in print!

Keeps -- I hope there is a difference between cleaning (what you said) and organizing (creating a system that makes keeping order easier). Don't laugh if you come over to my house and my system isn't working, though. :)

Linda -- Glad to know I'm not crazy.

Ha ha if you can only find the camera :) I'm always losing the camera CHARGER! Other than that, my husband is OCD about organization, so we're always in check!

There is FOR SURE a difference between cleaning and organizing... I know that because I obsess over one and totally neglect the other (I'm not telling which is which).
