Kids Say the Craziest Things

Last night I was wrestling with the kids on the floor. Caleb came up from behind me and smashed my nose and mouth with a mega-slap. It wasn't intentionally hurtful; he was just really wound up. Well, Katy started laughing, and I saw a potential lesson about laughing at other peoples' pain. I told her that it hurt Mommy, and that it's not funny if someone gets hurt. (I'm sure my dad would find this ironic/hypocritical coming from me, since I can never contain my laughter when he stubs his toe. Anyway...)

She said, "Well, it IS funny to ME."

Dag-nabbit. This parenting thing is tough.

Totally agree. Sometimes Bekah gets this low voice and yells at us to go to time out, NOW!!! It is so hard to contain the laughter.
P.S. Thanks for the comment and for the birthday mail. I am excited to get it when we get to Columbus.

Umm... yeah let's admit it, we all laugh when people get hurt. Why else would America's Funniest Home videos STILL be on 20 years later?
