Thankfulness - Part Deux

It turns out that -- astonishingly enough -- God is working in others' lives too! He has brought all four of the Swan children home, even though the last time they were all together at once was about 4 or 5 years ago. I'll let you in on the God-works person by person.

SARAH
Well, she's not a sibling, but Momma Swan has experienced God's hand in her volunteer positions at church. This week is Vacation Bible School, and Sarah has been in charge of that for the past few years. She felt strongly, though, that she was not to lead this year. She was willing to help get the new leader rolling, but for some reason knew that she shouldn't be leading. Why? Because God knew that our VBS would be this week, and that she would need to be with Ken from Monday on. She did, however, get the backdrop ready for the opening activities. Normally she would set that up on Monday morning for VBS to start that night, but for some reason she did it on Saturday this year. Hmmmm.....

SCOTT
Stephen's oldest brother has a family of six kids, one pending. :) With so many blessings from God, it's hard to get to Target, let alone to get out to Indiana from Virginia. But they planned a trip and just happen to be on their way as I type.

SHAWN
As a doctor, time off doesn't come without some planning. Shawn, looking at his schedule, decided that he would like some "end of summer" time with the family, so he took some days off around the time that just happened to be when Scott and his family was coming out. How neat! Only God knew it was also the time his parents just happened to need him.

SALLY
Sally and her family are getting ready for a move to Kansas City. In fact, they have an appointment there tomorrow. The kids were going to be staying with their Grandpa and Grandma Swan, so they all just happened to be coming here anyway.

STEPHEN
For our story, reference the previous post.

GOD IS SO GOOD!!

As far as Ken is concerned, he is currently in surgery. They got started about 8:30 this morning. He went on and off bypass without incident, and they are closing him up right now. God is in the room with him, of course, and so we know Ken is not alone. Here in the waiting room, the Swan family and various other supportive people are taking up at least half the space here. Dad, you are one popular guy, and you have the love and support of your family and friends. See you soon.
